Call for Nominations - Board of Directors

The Bernard Betel Centre (BBC) is a publicly funded agency that focuses on empowering seniors to lead active, creative, and healthy lifestyles, in a Jewish environment. Based in north central Toronto, and serving over 5,000 seniors, we offer educational and recreational courses and lectures, health promotion and wellness programs and clinics, and provide several community support services, including Kosher Meals on Wheels.

BBC is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected at the Annual General Meeting. Our Annual General Meeting is scheduled for September 11, 2017 in Toronto, Ontario. This is a call for nominations to fill several vacancies at this meeting.

The Nominations Committee is particularly interested in candidates with experience and skills in (a) law and (b) human resources. Previous board experience would be an asset as would familiarity with and interest in the Jewish community. Fluency in Russian is an asset. Board members are elected to a three-year term and are expected to attend six to eight Board meetings per year. For this year, residency in Toronto is a requirement.

Interested individuals may submit their candidacy or nominate others to the Board by submitting a cover letter and resume by August 11, 2017. Please submit to the address or email below. We thank all candidates in advance for their interest in the work of the Bernard Betel Centre. All inquiries will receive a response.
