ARCHAEOLOGY COURSE
SLAVERY IN THE ANCIENT WORLD

Slavery was ubiquitous in the ancient world. In the Near East, it was seen as a necessary “evil,” but was not nearly as bad as being poor and landless. The Greeks and Romans turned slavery into a phenomenon never seen before, where entire nations were reduced to slavery. It reached a point where Rome itself had nearly equal amounts of free and enslaved people. Includes certificate of completion.
