Bea Weiss, Longtime Volunteer, Retires After 30 Years of Service!

On Tuesday, July 30, Bea Weiss retired from the volunteer program after 30  years of continuous volunteer service. Members, volunteers and staff gathered in the cafeteria to celebrate and acknowledge her outstanding achievements as a Bernard Betel Centre volunteer.

Bea has been actively involved in many areas, including Café Europa, Special Events and in the Cafeteria. Recently, she reduced her volunteer involvement but continued her regular Tuesday shift in the cafeteria. Every Tuesday morning, Bea would arrive early to serve the breakfast crowd and then stay to assist with serving lunch.

Bea made it a point of knowing her regular customers and their preferences and was always ready to help new customers with their meal selection.  Although retiring as a volunteer, Bea will remain active as she plans to participate in many of the centre programs.

Thank you Bea! We will miss your energy and kind spirit!
