Betel says Goodbye to Rivka Campbell

Rivka Campbell, longtime Betel Computer Instructor, will be leaving Betel at the end of the month to take on the role of Executive Director at Congregation Beit Rayim in Thornhill. Although, we are sad to see her go, we are thrilled for her and her next phase of her life!

Rivka was part of the Bernard Betel Centre volunteer team for 10 years as a dedicated and knowledgeable volunteer in the Computer Department. When the role of Instructor for the Beginners Computer class became available, Rivka took on the role and made the class her own. Her many students adore her. Her patience and knowledge helps her compassionately teach students who may be afraid or intimidated by the computer and technology when they begin, and builds confidence and skills in her students.

Outside Betel, Rivka has used her varied skills in numerous roles in the Jewish community. Rivka is a Jewish woman of Jamaican descent, which has led her to involvement as Director of the organization “Jews of Colour”, for whom she lectures extensively.  She works widely within the Jewish community to promote diversity.

The Betel Centre staff, volunteers, members, and especially the Betel Computer Department will miss Rivka’s passion and compassion greatly. Good luck Rivka!
