Did you know that Giving Tuesday is a National Giving Day?
Most people know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but not everyone knows about Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a Canadian movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday is in its seventh year and takes place Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Referred to as the “opening day of the giving season” it is a day where charities, companies and individuals join together to share commitments, rally for their favourite causes, and think about others. It is a day that charities reach out to their communities asking for financial support.
This is the fourth year that the Bernard Betel Centre will be participating in Giving Tuesday and we are asking for your support. As most not-for-profit organizations, we have been held at the same funding amounts by government and community funders for years. In order to sustain our current programs and services, we must rely on the generous financial support of our donors. We need your help!
Consider supporting the Bernard Betel Centre! This year’s campaign goal is $2,000. How far does your dollar go?
♥️ $11 covers the cost of a kosher meal through our Meals on Wheels program to help feed a hungry senior or Holocaust survivor.
♥️ $18 covers the cost of materials for our free games program to keep older adults in the community social and engaged.
♥️ $36 covers the cost of materials for our Library to run recreational programs like creative writing, book club and memoir writing.
♥️ $54 helps cover the cost of new fitness equipment to help keep our older adult members active, healthy and strong.
♥️ $118 helps cover the cost of the Healthy at Home program, bringing free kosher lunch and a social program to isolated or marginalized seniors where they currently live.
♥️ $200 helps cover the cost to keep our computer lab equipment maintained so we can continue to offer programs that help older adults learn new skills and connect with their family and friends through computer and digital media programs.
