Happy National Volunteer Week!
Although this has been a difficult and challenging time, we are struck by the strength and resiliency of our community. We have witnessed so many people rising up to the challenge over the past month.
Volunteers and staff have reached out to their personal networks to recruit family and friends to deliver meals and provide entertainment.
Through virtual programs, our volunteers are leading classes in Spanish and French and one instructor is generously sharing her skills and offering a free virtual art program.
Our Friendly Visiting and Home Respite volunteers stay connected with their clients by providing regular telephone visits in place of in-home visits.
CAA South Central Ontario has stepped forward and offered their support. With fewer cars on the road and extra time to fill, their drivers have joined our Meals on Wheels delivery team.
As we near the end of National Volunteer Week, We want to recognize the power of the human spirit. We feel inspired by the kindness of our volunteers and the generosity of strangers who have now become friends. The pandemic will end, but we will be stronger, together, through the compassion of our community. Thank you!💕
With much appreciation,
