A Community Coming Together

On Thursday evening, after hearing about the tragic news of the fire at 6250 Bathurst Street, right next door to the Bernard Betel Centre, the staff and community immediately rallied together to help the residents. That night, staff from Bernard Betel Centre and Circle of Care spent hours contacting residents and clients in that building, many of whom do not speak English, assessing their needs, sharing information, and ensuring they had the support they needed after this devastating and traumatizing event.

On Friday, 800 meals were cooked and packed by Bernard Betel Centre staff and 200 meals were donated by Yummy Market. Over 1,000 meals were delivered to the residents of 6250 Bathurst Street on Friday afternoon by staff and volunteers from Jewish Family and Child Service and UJA Federation of Greater Toronto.

What an amazing community we have, quickly rallying together to support our most vulnerable in a time of need.❤️
