March for Meals 2021!

Access to nutritious, affordable and tasty meals is imperative to the independence and health of older adults. The benefits of the Meals on Wheels program are physical, emotional and psychological is more important than ever right now. The onset of COVID-19 a year ago resulted in higher demand for our Meals on Wheels program from the community. At this critical time, our wonderful volunteers deliver meals and provide both a social connection and safety check-in for our most isolated and vulnerable seniors.

Did you know:
• Our Meals on Wheels program nutritious and affordable kosher to over 500 individuals each week in Toronto and York Region
• Our incredible team of staff, most of whom were redeployed at the onset of COVID-19, cook, pack, and label between 2,000 and 3,000 meals each week
• Our dedicated team of 32 volunteer Meals on Wheels drivers deliver up to 3,000 meals a week to individuals in the community, providing a friendly (masked!) smile and valuable safety check.
• In 2020, our Meals on Wheels program provided over 80,000 meals to the community

Every March, Meals on Wheels providers across Ontario, like the Bernard Betel Centre, participate in the March for Meals campaign to celebrate their impact and raise awareness and community engagement. Join us to celebrate and recognize the contributions of our incredible Meals on Wheels team.
