After three long, frustrating years, and after four heartbreaking trip cancellations, it is with pride and excitement that we can say the Bernard Betel Centre’s Trips and Travel is back on the road! In fact, our first 34 intrepid travellers have just returned from a week in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, our first of many more overnight trips to come. Well done everyone! Thank you for your faith in us, and your commitment, collaboration and loyalty.
A great time was had by all, given the encouraging feedback and the list of additional desired trip destinations submitted to us. All 34 who left Toronto returned to Toronto happy, healthy, and with wonderful memories! No bags were lost or misplaced, new friendships were made, and the local economies of PEI and Nova Scotia received a big boost from our Betel group! All indications of a very successful trip.
True, the pandemic has played havoc with the tourist industry in ways that will linger and impact us all for years to come. That includes airport chaos with long lines, missing baggage, delayed and or cancelled flights, and $15 food vouchers. Hotels and restaurants are finding it difficult to find and attract reliable staff sometimes resulting in longer wait times for room assignments, housekeeping, and ordering and meal delivery. The antidote? Simple. Travel with a sense of humour, and lots patience and understanding, and the constant reminder that “we are going to make the best of every situation we find ourselves in”. A successful group trip is a group effort!
Bernard Betel is definitely “on the road” again. Two fully booked trips to Israel in the spring of 2024 with increasing wait lists, plus new destinations being planned! who has not yet been to Iceland or Spain?
