Each spring and fall we participate in the United Way Days of Caring campaign and welcome corporate volunteers from across Toronto to assist with our Meals on Wheels program. This week we were very pleased to welcome back Desjardins. On Tuesday, Cheryl Besner, Manager, Volunteer Services, gave a virtual presentation to 25 employees from Quebec, Montreal, Aurora, and the Mississauga Desjardins offices. She explained how United Way funds are used to support programs at the Bernard Betel Centre. On Wednesday, six Desjardins employees came to the centre to assist with meal delivery. Five of them had participated last year, and we were happy to have them back to volunteers with us. We hope that the presentation and volunteer experience further illustrates how their annual corporate contributions improve the lives of our seniors.
