Call for Nominations – Board of Directors

Sunday Events Program Volunteer
Spring dates:  May 26 and June 30 (9:00 am to 1:00 pm)
Summer dates: July 7, July 28, August 25 and September 15 (9:00 am to 1:00 pm)

This program will take place approximately one Sunday a month.  Dates will be provided on a quarterly basis. Volunteers will welcome and provide general assistance to participants of the program; assist with setting up and handing out lunch; distribute and collect surveys.  English language skills are required and Russian speaking skills are an asset. A team of 6-8 volunteers are needed.  This is a great opportunity to volunteer with friends and family.

Games Room Volunteer
Thursday (11:00 am to 4:30 pm)
The Games Room Program will provide a space for people to drop-in to play cards and board games. We are seeking a volunteer with excellent communication skills and leadership skills to oversee the program. Duties will include:  transport the games, cards and supplies to and from the program room;  welcome players and encourage them to participate in the games;  ensure that all participants feel included and respected.

Reena Art Program:  Volunteer Art Facilitator
This program is off-site at 45 Lebovic Campus Drive in Thornhill

Tuesday (7:00 pm to 8:00 pm)
Seeking 2 volunteers to co-facilitate a one hour art workshop for developmentally disabled adults.  The art projects are basic.  Volunteers will have a love of art;  ability to teach and a passion for motivating and supporting others.

Choir Assistant Volunteer
Sundays (10:00 am to 12:00 pm)
Seeking a volunteer to co-facilitate with the Choir Director to ensure the rehearsals run smoothly. Learn songs, warm-ups and accompanying activities under the supervision of the Choir Director; play piano to accompany the rehearsals; and create a welcoming, friendly, accessible environment to welcome singers of all abilities. Individual must have formal training or extensive experience reading and playing music and must be an experienced pianist.

Meals on Wheels Drivers
This program provides seniors with a nutritious meal and a security check. Routes are available weekdays between 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Volunteers are needed to can provide back-up support when one of our regular volunteers is unavailable.

Friendly Visiting
Trained volunteers visit seniors in their home who are socially isolated.  Provide companionship, support and reassurance.   Visits take place once a week for 1-2 hours.

At Home Respite
Volunteer relief is provided to caregivers (age 55+) who are looking after a loved one at home.  No nursing or physical care is provided.  Visits are once a week for 3 hours.
