The Bernard Betel Centre Partners with 407 ETR for their “One Big Day” Event

On Thursday, July 18, we welcomed a new corporate volunteer team to assist with our Meals on Wheels program. Under the United Way Greater Toronto Day of Caring initiative, 407 ETR organized a one day event where their employees volunteered to assist 5 different agencies across the community. We were very pleased to be part of this initiative and we congratulate them on the success of their “One Big Day” event.

The 12 corporate volunteers were organized in 5 teams to deliver meals to 65 of our senior clientele. The day began with heavy rain and heat but by the time they had completed their orientation and training, the skies cleared. 2 members of the communications team accompanied one group to film the volunteers in action. How surprising for our members to see 5 large 407 ETR vehicles parked on site and ready to be loaded with the meals.

We thank one courageous group who encountered a fire in one of the buildings but still managed to deliver to all 9 seniors at that site.

Congratulations and THANK YOUR to 407 ETR!
